I’m a professionally trained and educated Geriatric Care Manager and Elder Care Expert. I want to hep you the adult child of an elderly parent create an elder care solution for your aging family. An elder care solution that is personal and realistic.
Whether you’re a 24 hour caregiver or live 2,400 miles away from your elderly parent, I want to help you help them.
I’m always amazed at how incredibly complex and overwhelming the life of an elderly parent can be. Not to mention the elder care system itself.
The numerous decisions that have to be made, the details involved with coordinating care, the barriers to getting help in place, obstinate elderly parents that wont accept help, siblings that don’t see eye to eye and the chaos of the health care system.
It all adds up to a lot of sleepless nights!
You need information which let’s face it is only one click away online but what you really need is a professional that will provide advice and make recommendations specific to your situation and elderly parent’s needs. A person that will take the guessing game out of the decision making process.
I offer an array of services designed to assist families worried about their elderly parents: geriatric care management, caregiver coaching, clarity sessions, assessments, care plans, dementia education, service coordination and monitoring of care. At the end of the day, I want you to be able to look yourself in the mirror and know you did the best you could for your elderly parents.
My journey in elder care began as a nursing assistant in that small rural town in Indiana. Since that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various positions that have all taught me a thing or two about elder care: geriatric care manager, admissions director, social service, discharge planning, dementia care, support group facilitating, marketing and product development. I’ve worked with clinical teams that include physicians, nurses, therapists, nutritionists and families. I’ve problem solved situations that families and professionals thought were impossible.
One thing I’ve learned about myself along the way is that I don’t know everything but I do have a special talent for identifying what’s important to my clients, knowing how to communicate that to the professionals they work with and how to find solutions that are driven by my clients not the health care system or corporate policies and procedures.
